Gossip is a newish Bistro which has been giving all the right noises. Have seen nothing but glowing reviews about their food and fantastic service. One look at what they were offering for their weekend breakfast buffet and I was sold – hook line and sinker. Next few days were spent plotting on how I was gonna drag my friends all that way for breakfast. Plans were made and finally, we made it on one fine Sunday morning.
A quick look on maps showed that the restaurant is located just before the toll on ECR stretch. We were worried we might go past it but it really is quite hard to miss. The decor is quirky, to say the least. Loved the colors, bulbs, posters and paintings. Lots of references to American pop culture. Flowers on the table was also a nice touch.
We were served welcome drinks after being seated and I liked their Watermelon Juice the best. They had fresh fruits, bread, croissants, fresh baked warm choco chip muffins topped off with powdered sugar, cereal of choice with milk.
Eggs were served per choice. We tried Cheese and Masala Omelettes of which the former was just heavenly. Scrambled eggs were also pretty good.
Pancakes and Waffles were also served on the table on request. Warm, Crisp Waffles topped with powdered sugar was served with chocolate sauce and whipped cream. Maple Syrup was also provided. Pancakes were also a delicious affair with the same powdered sugar adorning the surface. We added a good measure of honey and maple syrup to gulp them down.
Moving onto my favorite part of the buffet. Minute Beef Steaks and Chicken Sausages. Aaahhhh these both were absolutely top notch. Beef Steaks with long diced onion in pepper sauce was done to perfection and tasted wonderful. Sausages were even better if that was even possible. I was already stuffed but couldn’t stop myself from filling my plate multiple times.
There were a few other south indian breakfast options which included Idlis, Dosa, Pongal and Vadai including sambar along with three different kinda chutneys. Since I was already full I steered totally away from that section. Finished this sumptuous breakfast with Coffee.
Food is always the leading indicator on how you perceive a restaurant but almost equally important is service and boy were these guys good. They did seem a bit short staffed but the care shown by the owners was exemplary. They kept checking on us regularly, got feedback on various dishes and quite surprisingly brought out dishes from the kitchen themselves. The presentation which is quite important was done equally well. Pricing was 400 per person. Considering the amount of variety, quality of food and service provided I found this worth every penny.
This was solely the kinda breakfast feast I had been craving for ages and finally, I have found my fix. Only con being the distance. Apart from that, this place is absolutely top notch. I can’t recommend them highly enough.
